West Point Cadets Qualify for Triathlon World Championships and Escape from Alcatraz
9/29/2010Four of the finest young athletes in the US rode Maxxis to qualify for 2011 Triathlon World Championships (Team USA). Marcie Nordt, Jessica Clay, Alex Habecker and Brian Trainor each earned a spot on the podium at the 2010 USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships, ensuring a place on Team USA for the 2011 International Triathlon Union World Championships in Beijing.
Nordt took second place in the under-24 category, while Clay was second in the under-19 group. Habecker and Trainor finished fourth and fifth in the under-19 group.
With fine performances at the Jarden’s Westchester Triathlon, several West Pointers were also a sure bet to qualify for the 2011 Escape from Alcatraz. The Escape from Alcatraz is scheduled for June 2, 2011 in San Francisco.
