UHC-Maxxis’ Keough Wins Green Mtn. Stage 4
9/07/2010Jake Keough of UnitedHealthcare Presented by Maxxis has done it again, winning the final stage of the Green Mountain Stage Race. Teammate Tim Johnson took second place in the general classification. Green Mountain was held September 3-6 in Burlington, Vermont.
Keough rode his Maxxis Cormets to a 1:06:15-hour finish. As is customary for the UHC-Maxxis crew, teamwork played a crucial role in the two riders’ success. “We definitely wanted to protect Tim’s GC position, but still hopefully have a shot at the stage win,” said Keough. “We tried to work off of each other to make sure we covered all the moves and nothing got away.” Keough stayed close to Johnson as he made his way to the front group in the final six laps. “Tim feathered it when he could to save some energy and hit it when things started to swarm,” Keough said. “It was great having him up there controlling things.”
