Maxxis on Podium at GNCC Ironman Motorcycle

10/25/2010

Maxxis’ sponsored rider Chris Bach overcame a dusty course to take third place at the last round of the GNCC motorcycle series, the GNCC Ironman. The race was held October 24 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

After starting in the middle of the pack, Bach made steady progress throughout the race, with an aggressive last-lap push propelling him to a spot on the podium. He said that his Maxxcross tires came through for him on all of the event’s varying terrain. "Even with the less than ideal conditions at Ironman, my SI rear and EN front proved to be great and versatile choices,” he said. “The tires offered traction when I needed to blast through silt berms and climb powdery hills, and when I charged the dry-slick, hard-packed flat grass track turns.” With 212 points, Bach took fifth place for the season in XC1.

Maxxis’ riders took the top two spots in XC2, with Jason Thomas taking the victory and Jesse Robinson grabbing second place. Thomas and Robinson earned second and third place in XC2 for the season; Thomas accumulated 312 points and 3 wins, while Robinson racked up 272 points and 2 victories.

Maxxis congratulates all of these riders on a season of fine performances and thanks them for choosing the brand of champions.
