Maxxis Dominates GNCC ATV Yadkin Valley Stomp
6/27/2008Maxxis stomped the competition at the Yadkin Valley Stomp, with nine of the top ten riders on Razrs. Bryan Cook took the victory, with defending champ and current points leader Bill Ballance in second place. The race was held June 21 in Yadkinville, North Carolina.
Cook took the lead in the middle of the race and held it through the finish line, according to gnccracing.com. “Man, it feels so good. I heard the fans cheering all day. Every time you came around a corner there were people cheering…I got a little fatigued, but not too bad, and I held on,” Cook told the GNCC website.
Ballance’s performance increased his overall lead to 29 points for a total of 177. Jarrod McClure took third place for his best finish ever in the Pro class, while Ryan Lane nabbed fourth place. Adam McGill, winner of three rounds this season, took fifth, with Chris Borich in sixth place. Finishing in eighth through tenth places were, in order, McGill’s KTM teammate Taylor Kiser, Matt Smiley and Santo Derisi.
Maxxis extended its Holeshot Award streak to 34 when Brandon Sommers broke away from the crowd at the start of the race.
