Bouncing back from an injury which took him out of commission for much of the season, Team Maxxis-Rocky Mountain’s Cameron Cole took second place at the New Zealand Open. The downhill mountain biking competition was held December 12 in Christchurch, New Zealand.

"It felt really good to be back racing again, and it is very motivating for me to lose. I know that feeling again of wanting to win," Cole said. "The New Zealand Open track was tough. There were a few technical corners that required some precision." Cole’s Minion DHF tires proved they were up to the challenge, allowing him to finish on the podium.

Despite being sidelined for a time by his broken wrist, Cole made the top ten at World Cup downhill races three times this season and ranked eighth in UCI’s overall standings.

Maxxis congratulates Cameron Cole on rebounding from his injury to turn in an excellent performance at the New Zealand Open.
