Maxxis’ drivers thrive on heart-pounding off-road action – and now, video game fans can enjoy the same adrenaline-charged thrills, as two Maxxis trucks figure prominently in Baja: Edge of Control.

Chris Borich ended the 2008 GNCC season on a winning note with a victory at the Klotz Ironman. Maxxis took nine of the top ten and Traci Cecco locked up the GNCC women’s title at the race, held October 25-26 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Justin Pawlak took third place in the final round of this year’s Formula Drift series, securing his place as a seeded driver for 2009. Pawlak’s performance also qualified him for the Formula Drift World Finals, scheduled for November 15-16 in his hometown of Long Beach, California.

Maxxis’ Bobby Bonds is the 2008 WORCS champion, securing his title with a win in the season’s last race. In addition to his victory at the season finale, the privateer racked up six second place finishes throughout the year.

Going where no ATV champion has gone before, Bill Ballance has taken an unprecedented ninth GNCC title. The legendary rider clinched the 2008 championship with a win at ITP Power Line Park, held October 11-12 in St. Clairsville, Ohio.

Maxxis’ Ryan Tuerk was named Driver of the Year for the 2008 Formula Drift series. Tuerk’s fellow drifters and their crew members chose him for the prestigious award, which was presented October 12 at Formula Drift’s annual banquet.

After winning 8 of the season’s first 11 races, Donnie Ockerman has locked up the GNCC ATV XC2 Pro Am championship. With 278 points to date, he is 98 points ahead of his nearest rival.

For the sixth straight year, Maxxis has been ranked among Taiwan’s top global brands. Maxxis is sixth on the 2008 list, and is the only tire manufacturer to make the prestigious ranking.

Charging toward the lead for the title, Bobby Bonds racked up another strong performance in the WORCS series. Bonds took his sixth second place finish of the season at Round 9, held September 19-21 in Milford, California.

Morgan Wade’s wild barrel roll transfer won him the Hardest Trick prize at the 2008 Metro BMX Jam, held August 30-31 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Round 3 of the 2008 Maxxis Endurocross thrilled a capacity crowd in Florence, South Carolina, as thousands watched some of the sport’s best compete on a brutal course. Maxxis’ sponsored rider Bobby Prochnau took second place in the main event, riding Maxxcross in an outstanding performance.

Mike Spinner added another silver medal to his Dew Tour collection at the Toyota Challenge, held September 11-14 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

There’s no stopping a champion like Geoff Kabush: The Team Maxxis rider just earned his fourth NMBS cross country title by taking third place at the series’ finals.

Riders on Maxxis took key victories and swept podiums at the World Cup in Australia, held August 30-31 in Canberra.

Leading his nearest rival by more than a minute, Bobby Bonds rode Maxxcross to victory in Round 8 of the WORCS series.

Mike Spinner continues to rack up Dew Tour medals, nabbing the silver in BMX Park at the Wendy’s Invitational.
