I started triathlons when I saw my brother do one. I won my first race at age 10 and well, I was hooked. I turned professional at age 18 and was 4th in my first world cup in 1994. I have been in love with the challenge of this sport and the desire to win ever since.

“All around tyre for any terrain”
Learning to strategize in races. I am an all out from the gun racer and have had to learn to play the game some over my career.
Winning my first US Professional Championships and winning the 2008 Olympic Trials
In Germany racing the Bundeslega I was in the lead pack of 6 or 7. It was pouring rain. Going around a corner, I went too wide and crashed into a big mud puddle on the side of the road, only to get back on and catch back up with mud on me from head to toe. Another one was I was riding to the transition area of a race when the wind blew the plastic fencing into bars handle bars I got throwin off my bike going 5 miles an hour!
The quality of tyre and the great group of people that research and design these tyres.
Not much downtime for me as we have three kiddos…and that is how I spend any downtime, with them.
I like a pick up game of basketball. I am 6'5" after all. On and poker, that's considered a sport right?
Thai and steak
Triple skinny latte, Shiner Bock, vanilla muscle milk light
I admire anyone who is giving 100% to succeed in their chosen sport. There are some runners in Boulder that do that. I love watching top athletes do their jobs well…guys like Rodger Federer, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Ryan Lockte and Michael Phelps.
Olympic Games…to get the taper right, the emotions on the line and you are up against the best in the world on the day.
Sublime, Cold Play, Eminem
Honest, down to earth people. Long climbs through the mountains and no cars on the road. My kids laughter. Breaking the tape at races.
Profess ional basketballer (I wish!)…but most likely own a coffee shop or a pro poker player.
